Rugby Referee App for Garmin Sport Watches

When I decided to try my hand at refereeing Rugby (this is the best contributon I can make during the 7s season), I quickly realized that the referee apps for the Garmin smartwatch I have are less than stellar. And in this new era of vibecoding, I decided to use the this latest technology to build me something that works. And to my surprise, I have a pretty darn functional application now in my hands.

The app is pretty simple: track time (with support for different rugby game lengths), track the scores and sinbin timers and try to do this in a way that is as easy as possible for the ref to use. I am pretty sure that I will be updating the basic functionality as my experience grows; I am pretty sure that the needs at a 7s tournament with multiple ARs and a fourth official will be very different from a 15s game without official ARs at all.

The application is currently available for free on Github. I am not confident yet of distributing actual binaries, I feel that that would give me some burden to make sure the application works, hence I am happy to let people build it themselves (which I understand will reduce the apps appeal for non technical people).

If there is a larger market for the application, I will consider putting it up in the Garmin store.
